A new take on a timeless classic. The pattern design is lifted directly from our original 1956 Cortina sweater – our first ever Olympic sweater made for the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo. The Cortina pattern captures the very essence of Norwegian tradition and has become one of Norway’s most beloved patterns. All knitted together into a new jacket with a young fit and vibe.
Like the original Cortina sweater, this jacket is made of 100% Norwegian wool, but in a freshly developed wool quality called Heron. This yarn offers incredibly lightness and a unique, crisp look. By selecting the finest wool from the sheep’s very first shearing, the fibers are short, giving us a finer and softer yarn with. The outcome is thin, light and soft garments, while maintaining the brilliance, crimp and longevity for which Norwegian wool is world renowned. For extra comfort, the neck is lined with soft merino wool.
