Official Olympic and World Championships sweaters since 1956.

Did you know we have made official sweaters for the national Norwegian ski team for every single Winter Olympics and World Ski Championships since 1956? These team sweaters have become iconic collector’s items.

With long, snowy winters, it’s no surprise skiing is the national Norwegian sport. Norwegians are said to be«born with skis on their feet». And since the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics these skis have been accompanied by a Dale sweater.

It has been a truly impressive row of legendary ski athletes wearing a Dale sweater.

From 1956 to date, we have made 18 Winter Olympic sweaters and countless World Championship sweaters. We have even made a team sweater for the US Alpine and Snowboard team: the still highly popular Vail sweater.

Branding-wise, the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics stands out as the two most important events for Dale. In 2020 we made the Tokyo sweater, our first team sweater for a Summer Olympics since the 1992 Barcelona sweater.

These historical team sweaters serve as a continuous source of inspiration to us. Design details from team sweaters are often incorporated into new designs, keeping the Dale signature distinct and authentic. Sometimes we even re-launch the original design, like the Cortina 1956 sweater.

To celebrate more than six decades of official team sweaters, we have made an image parade with highlightsfrom the impressive row of legendary athletes wearing a Dale sweater. Take a look here.
