Seagull – lightweight wool: Our 100% lightweight yarn from South American crossbred sheep, produced exclusively for Dale of Norway, is ideal for traditional medium-weight garments that call for a lighter and softer feel. To make the yarn machine washable, it undergoes the innovative EXP treatment, which uses natural, non-toxic salts. (Fiber diameter: 27 micron). Can be machine washed on a wool cycle.

Jordalen is a sheltered mountain valley on the edge of the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Area, home to a small but vibrant local community. Many of the residents are farmers who have long relied on the valley’s fertile pastures and the surrounding highlands for grazing livestock.

The name Jordalen likely originates from an Old Norse word for livestock, a reminder of how deeply tied the valley’s identity is to its pastoral heritage and the enduring importance of seasonal farming in the region.
