Reimagined from the iconic Lusa cardigan, the design reflects the historic “lusemønster” pattern associated with classic Norwegian knitwear. Njord – fine Norwegian wool: Made from 100% fine Norwegian wool sourced from the sheep’s very first shearing, this yarn features short fibers that create a finer, softer feel. The result is a thin, lightweight yarn with a crisp look, natural crimp, and the exceptional longevity for which Norwegian wool is known. Norwegian wool is one of the world’s most animal-friendly textile fibers, as the sheep roam freely in vast mountain landscapes, grazing on natural pastures. To make the yarn machine washable, it undergoes the innovative EXP treatment, which uses natural, non-toxic salts. (Fiber diameter 30.5 micron). Can be machine washed on a wool cycle.

The name Lusa is derived from the Norwegian word “lusemønster,” meaning lice pattern, famously featured in the traditional lusekofta (our Setesdal garments). These garments are adorned with the iconic lice pattern, a hallmark of Norwegian knitwear.
